Chris Young Live at the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Tx

Last Thursday I had the privilege to shoot photo's for country star Chris Young. To be honest, A month ago I didn't even know who Chris Young really was. I only knew he was somewhat new to the country music scene, and he was on the rise to being a pretty popular singer. As I am not much of a country music person I really don't know who any of the Artist's are anymore besides a few of the real big ones. Without doing the research before hand like I should have done, going into this concert I wasn't really sure what to expect.

It was the first night of the stock show and rodeo in San Antonio, Tx so the AT&T center was pretty packed. The Rodeo went on for around 2 hours. After it was over, I was kind of expecting some people to go ahead and take off, but pretty much the entire crowd stayed and waited on Chris Young to come out to take the stage. It was just a big rodeo arena so I figured they had some little stage they rolled out in the middle of the dirt for him to play on. After a few minutes a truck came out pulling this stage out that was all folded up. I was thinking wow theres no way they can set up a full stage for Chris Young and his band in 20 minutes. Somehow they got a lot set up in the 20 minutes yet there were still no floor monitors and a somewhat empty stage.

Then, all of a sudden the lights went dark. The drummer started quietly playing a little beat on the drums. A brand new Ford F150 came pulling out onto the dirt with Chris Young in the back of it. He jumps out and runs up on stage and they just go straight into their first song. I was seriously blown away with how great it sounded and how good they played with such a quick set up on the stage. Knowing that he's a country singer I wasn't expecting him to have that much energy or anything. So when he ran up on stage and started jumping around and running all over the stage I was really surprised. It was an amazing show, full of energy, and he is one of the happiest guys I have ever seen on a stage and loves to get the crowd involved in the show. After a few songs were played I found out that I actually knew some of his songs and hearing the entire crowd in the AT&T center singing along and cheering as loud as they were, My idea of him before the concert was completely wrong. Chris Young is seriously making a name for himself and will definitely be around for a long time. Most likely you already know who he is and already a fan but when he comes to a venue near you, you definitely need to get out there and see him live in concert.
